Lynnwood, the retail hub of South Snohomish County, houses more than 3,000 businesses. 

The school district in Lynnwood consists of twenty-six schools. Lynnwood’s higher learning facilities include Edmonds Community College. Other post-secondary institutions in the region include Lynnwood Community College, City University, and several campuses of the renowned Washington State University

Characterized by a varied topography that includes forests, saltwater beaches, lakes, mountains, and rolling hills, this beautiful region offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast. Lynnwood has a 20-acre bird sanctuary called Scriber Lake Park, situated in the heart of the commercial district. Lynnwood boasts more than 300 acres of land dedicated to parks, where ice and roller-skating arenas, tennis courts, and movie theatres are among the available facilities.  The historic Interurban Trail features nearly four miles of paved terrain suitable for biking, jogging, and walking.  These trails are part of an interconnected system that joins with paths in Everett and Mountlake Terrace. The Lynnwood Recreation Center includes an aquatics program, racquetball courts, and a weight room. There are also recreational complexes that offer sand volleyball courts, a track, and lighted baseball and soccer fields. 

Lynnwood, Washington lies 20 minutes north of Seattle, where I-5 and I-405 converge. Such a centralized location makes Lynnwood an ideal starting place for exploring the many popular vacation destinations on North Puget Sound.  Visitors have access to world-class golf courses, Lynnwood Botanical Garden, Mt. Rainier National Park, Mount St. Helens, Puget Sound and the Space Needle, all set in a refreshing maritime climate. Neighboring cities include Bothell, Edmonds, and Mill Creek, while Lynnwood, Everett, and Vancouver, Canada are within a reasonable driving distance. Also nearby are the North Cascades, Whidbey Island, and the San Juan Island Ferries.
