Three people injured in huge crash in Whatcom County
02/05/2013 - 16:07
Three people were seriously injured when a driver blew through a stop sign, causing a three-car pile up and closed East Badger Road for five hours. This crash is an example of how driver inattention can have truly horrible consequences and put innocent lives at risk.
The driver of a Chevy Blazer failed to stop at a stop sign, and ran into a westbound Acura, sending that car slamming into an eastbound Jeep Cherokee. The Chevy flew off the roadway into a tree and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The two occupants of the Acura were sent to the hospital. Luckily, the three occupants of the Jeep, including two children were not injured.

Law enforcement officers say that there appear to be no drugs or alcohol involved in this crash, but that the at-fault driver will be cited for failing to stop and possibly negligent driving. In this case, none of the injuries appear to be life threatening, but this could have easily been a fatality accident, with so many vehicles and occupants involved. It is a reminder to pay attention, especially while driving in places where you may be unfamiliar with the roads and traffic laws.
